In her book titled "The Art of Empathy", Karla McLaren writes about developing the ability of discerning whether an emotion felt is your own or someone else's. For many, the need to "fix" other peoples' problems comes from the need to alleviate the pain they are feeling. Identifying the emotion in the self and developing emotional regulation skills is most often the better way to go about this. I believe the same holds true for Money Habitudes. It would serve a coach well to be very aware of their own habits/attitudes/emotions in regards to finances so they can practice regulation and not let this filter down to the client.
Thank you Ms Solomon for taking the time to enrich us with your knowledge. I really enjoyed listening to your talk and hearing what you had to say.
I look forward to using this card game with my clients and using it as a tool to make them more comfortable discussing finance and seeing where things came from. Thank you.
